Team Viewer is available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X,[1][2] Linux,[3]Chrome OS,[4] iOS,[5] Android,[6] Windows RT,[7] Windows Phone 8[8]and BlackBerry operating systems. It is also possible to access a machine running Team Viewer with a web browser.[9] While the main focus of the application is remote control of computers, collaboration and presentation features are included.[10]
Team Viewer can be used without charge by non-commercial users,[11]and Business, Premium and Corporate versions are available.
Team Viewer GmbH was founded in 2005 in Unhinge, Germany. UK-based private equity firm Permit acquired Team Viewer GmbH from Durham, North Carolina-based software developer GIF Software in 2014.[12] The company also hosts an online backup cloud service called Air backup.[13]
